Why has the target attribute has been deprecated, dropped?
- When a web-page designer forces a new window to open, the designer takes the choice away from the viewer. The choice should be the viewer's own, through the browser and mouse options.
- A new window confuses viewers when it fills the screen in a graphical browser. The confusion becomes more acute in non-graphical browsers, such as speech-synthesizers.
- We cannot use the browser's back button to return when a new window opens.
