Reason
The lang attribute and the xml:lang attribute specify the human language of the text in a document.
This is useful for many purposes, current and developing. For instance:
- Today, a search engine robot will know which human language you are using and will therefore know how to process your pages.
- Tomorrow when speech-synthesizers develop for popular usage, the attribute will tell the machine how to pronounce the words of your text.
